, confirmed, on Tuesday, that a joint vision has been reached with the House of Representatives on the food security law proposed by the government, while indicating the possibility of distributing the monthly ration within the proposed law.
The House of Representatives came to discuss the food security law proposed by the government and the observations made by the representatives and members of the Finance Committee, noting that “the government’s views were explained and we reached a common vision about the law.”
On the ration card, al-Jubouri confirmed that “the Ministry of Commerce distributed the first ration for the month of Ramadan .” Another quota will be launched.”
He pointed out that "there is great support from the deputies, provided that the ration is monthly within the proposed law."
Today, Tuesday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee called for sending the files of entitlements to the ration card and food security items to it.
And the media department of the Council said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Finance Committee headed by Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi and the presence of its members hosted today, Tuesday, Minister of Finance Ali Allawi, Minister of Commerce Alaa Al-Jubouri, Minister of State for Parliament Affairs Hiam Nemat and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Director General of the Budget Department Taif Sami and the Director General of Accounts in the Ministry, Sahar Hadi, to discuss the merits of the Emergency Support Law, Food Security and Development, and the necessary amendments to it.
He added that "the committee's representatives discussed the articles of the draft law to take their legal observations, the reasons that led to sending it to the council, how to distribute the necessary allocations for projects, and emphasizing the deletion of the article related to borrowing in light of the financial abundance."
He called on Al-Kaabi and the committee members to "send the files related to the ration card items and food security entitlements in official letters to the Finance Committee in the Council."
The interventions of the members of the Finance Committee focused on disclosing the final accounts and spending and revenue ratios, in addition to the importance of maximizing non-oil revenues and their obligations and the rights of the Kurdistan region, as well as knowing the reasons for internal and external borrowing and how to disburse money and pay debts, fees and taxes, stressing the need to “establish a sovereign fund for the state to address the situation.” emergency".
