The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hakim Al-Zamili, announced, on Sunday, that the work permit will be withdrawn from the fake oil smuggling laboratories.
Al-Zamili said: "Today, the Minister of Oil was hosted to complete the meeting held last week with ministry officials regarding the fuel crisis and the increase in the prices of black oil derivatives for asphalt plants, as well as extending the pipeline between Basra and Aqaba."
He explained, "The minister provided answers before the parliament, and we are still waiting for the formation of the government, so the parliament is the constitutionally elected body to preserve the people's capabilities."
He added that "Parliament hosts ministers and has a clear message to the current and future governments, that the House of Representatives does not stand against it or against its officials, but rather monitors and evaluates the performance of the government and wants to show decisions that serve the citizen," noting that "hosting any minister and official is not an interrogation."
He continued, "If we have observations about any minister, we question him according to the law and the internal system that allows Parliament to host, question and question," noting that "the presence of ministers in the House of Representatives removes many ambiguities and clarifies the picture more accurately about citizens' inquiries."
Al-Zamili explained that "today's session was for the purpose of clarification of important axes, and parliament has a clear vision of these crises," adding that "the minister raised the problem of oil smuggling and we are against smuggling the Iraqi product."
He also said: "The local factories that operate with black oil, if they are working properly, we will support them, but if they are fake and smuggling oil, we will stand with the ministry to withdraw the work permit from them."
He pointed out that "the third axis is the transport pipeline between Basra and Aqaba, and that Parliament is with the government when it presents projects that serve the country and the citizen, provided that it sees the strategic projects to support the positive ones and we stand against the negative ones."
