A report by the American Al-Monitor website sheds light on Turkey's goals and endeavors to establish safe areas inside Iraq, extending thirty kilometers deep.
The report referred to Ankara's efforts to establish a safe zone in northern Iraq, with the aim of confronting the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its allied militias.
The report also compared that region with another that Ankara is trying to establish in northern Syria, which has intensified efforts to establish it in conjunction with the recent increase in Turkish attacks against the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, taking advantage of the Russian involvement in Ukraine, but the report revealed the difficulty of establishing the region inside Iraq due to the two situations Completely different geographical and political compared to Syria.
