Today, Sunday, June 19, 2022, the President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, received a delegation from the people of Sinjar, in the presence of the head of the National Security Apparatus, Hamid Al-Shatri, at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, to discuss developments in the security, service and humanitarian conditions in the city and the obstacles facing its people.
The President of the Republic stressed that Sinjar had suffered a lot as a result of violence and terrorism, and its people had valiantly faced various hardships and tribulations, stressing the need to alleviate the suffering of the people of Sinjar and to provide the necessary atmosphere for the return of the displaced, enhanced with honor, and for normal life to return to it.
He stressed that the attacks on Sinjar are condemned and rejected, and that the security tensions within the city that threaten the security and stability of the Yazidis are unacceptable, and that work must be done through the authorities of the federal and regional government for serious coordination to end these issues.
The President of the Republic referred to the necessity of overcoming the political and administrative obstacles that hinder the justice of the Yezidis, and working on the reconstruction of the city and organizing the administration in Sinjar based on the will of its people, and keeping it away from political conflicts.
For their part, the members of the delegation expressed their thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for his efforts in supporting the Yazidis, establishing security and stability in Sinjar, and defending the rights of the victims and redressing their families.
