    The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has registered more than one million unemployed persons of various categories and graduates of the Ministries of Higher Education and Education during the past period, while it concluded an agreement with the International Labor Organization to develop training curricula.
    The Director General of the Department of Labor and Vocational Training, Raed Jabbar Bahed, told the official newspaper, "The labor sector is the responsibility of the ministry in the main, because the ministry has a solid database that includes more than one million job seekers from different groups and graduates of the ministries of higher education and education who were registered during the last period in Baghdad and the provinces, except for the Kurdistan region.
    He pointed out that there are many times that number of unemployed people who are not registered in the ministry's database, calling for concerted efforts to create real job opportunities for them in the public and private sectors and the preparation of a national plan to solve this crisis.
    Bahed added that “the ministry has concluded an agreement with the International Labor Organization to develop training curricula in the ministry’s training centers, and to support the private sector through vocational training outputs that are compatible with the labor market, noting that the ministry has many international bodies and organizations that cooperate with it in the field of employment and training.” professional, which has proven competence and the ability to deal in creating projects that serve different groups of society.”
    He pointed out that "the most prominent projects carried out by the Ministry are supported by various international organizations, especially the United Nations Program and the Canadian Organization, which have achieved satisfactory results by increasing job opportunities for young people, strengthening the capabilities of training institutions, applying assurance and quality standards, applying competency-based training and developing the labor market."
