    The Electoral Commission announced that it will continue to conduct biometric registration of unregistered voters and distribute biometric cards.
    And she stated in her weekly speech: that the registration centers affiliated to the electoral district offices spread throughout Iraq are still practicing their work by conducting biometric registration for unregistered voters and distributing biometric cards, as well as running mobile teams in government institutions and departments and in the various districts and districts of the governorates.
    She added: The number of registered voters amounted to (180.939) voters, while the number of distributed cards reached (339,566) biometric cards, indicating that the work is being carried out in the presence of a number of local observers and agents of political parties.     She explained: The Board of Commissioners agreed to open the ballot boxes, inventory and sort their contents from sensitive and non-sensitive materials, as well as to establish a mechanism to destroy electronically preserved ballot papers in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals / General Company for Petrochemical Industries to benefit from them by recycling, as a technical destruction committee was formed for this purpose. Coordinating work with the concerned ministry and with the electoral governorate offices for the purpose of unifying the sequential destruction operations.
    She added that work is currently underway within the corridors of the Independent High Electoral Commission to conduct a series of training workshops in cooperation with the International Electoral Assistance Team (UNAMI) and the International Agency for Electoral Systems (IFES).
    In another matter, the Electoral Commission continues to follow up the performance of political parties and organizations registered with the Department of Parties and Political Organizations Affairs, as well as parties wishing to register through the same department or the party and candidate affairs divisions in all governorate electoral offices that work on follow-up, evaluation, monitoring and field visits to party headquarters. The periodic party conferences of the registered parties, which numbered (265).
    She explained that the Board of Commissioners recently canceled the approval of (30) party registration requests, after more than a year had passed since submitting the applications without completing the formal requirements, including the name and logo of the party or the number of members of the founding body, and the objective requirements; Including the completion of the procedures of the National Commission for Accountability and Justice or financial benefits based on the Law of Parties and Political Organizations No. (36) of 2015.
