    Today, Monday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee set the date for the government to send the draft budget law for 2023, and while it expected its approval in next March, it confirmed the continuation of the movement of the House of Representatives to nominate committee chairmen, their deputies, and rapporteurs.
    Committee member Mueen Al-Kadhimi said, in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency and its follow-up with "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the House of Representatives has resolved the issue of the parliamentary committees, amounting to 25 committees, which were divided between three levels according to importance (A, B, C)," noting that "it was agreed on Dividing the chairpersonships of the committees among the components of the people according to the previous contexts and the number of seats.
    Al-Kadhimi added, "Negotiations about chairing committees between the components is still going on to assume responsibility for the committees by specialists," noting that "until now, this issue has not been resolved, and work is underway to fill the gaps in the committees with naming the president, deputy, and rapporteur of each specialized committee."
    Regarding resolving important laws, Al-Kadhimi stated that "the House of Representatives was not in communication with the government in the first stage, so the law for renting slums was put forward without consulting the new government," explaining that "the new government may not be in its strategy to rent slums, but rather to own the residents in areas that can be It is transformed from agricultural to residential, and the same applies to the current military service law.
    And he continued, "We called on the government to withdraw all laws that have a legislative financial side, and return them to the House of Representatives as necessary and according to importance," pointing out that "the government began to withdraw these laws in order to return them to the House of Representatives according to the necessity of its work for the next stage, and thus it will be an approach The House of Representatives kept pace with the work of the government in terms of legislation and in terms of oversight and follow-up.
    Regarding the 2023 budget, Al-Kazemi indicated that "the budget will reach the government to the parliament at the beginning of next year," pointing out that "the parliament will go through the stage of sifting, discussion and political influences and proceed with the first and second reading, and there will be opinions and disagreements in this regard until a political consensus is reached." About the shares of the provinces, the Kurdistan region, the deprived provinces in the center and the south, and the provinces affected by terrorism.
    Al-Kadhimi expected that "the federal general budget for the next year 2023 will be approved next March."
