Khaled Agar, head of the Turkish-Iraqi Business Council of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Council (DEİK), confirmed today, Thursday, that his country and Iraq are working to increase the volume of trade exchange between them to more than $20 billion.
Agar said in a statement, seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that a delegation from the council visited Iraq on December 18-19 to discuss ways to increase trade and investments between the two countries.
He pointed out that the delegation stressed during its meetings with Iraqi officials the importance of accelerating visa procedures, ensuring the free movement of Turkish trucks and transit, and easy access to financing to increase exports, trade and investments between the two countries.
He explained that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries at the present time is about $20 billion, while the two countries continue to work to raise it more than that.
