The Ministry of Industry and Minerals developed a plan to rehabilitate its factories and increase their production capacity, and while it indicated that its products are better than imported ones, it confirmed that it supplies the Ministry of Electricity with 7 basic materials, and a specialist in economic affairs described this approach that supports the national economy and maintains the capital cycle inside Iraq.
The media office of the ministry said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Most of the products of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals companies serve and meet the needs of the state ministries," noting that "the products are very good and within the product guide approved by the House of Representatives, the Ministers and the Ministry of Planning."
He added, "Our products are characterized by high quality, better than those of the imported ones," noting that "these products are distinguished by their quality, with a certificate from the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control."
The specialist in economic affairs, Ahmed Meklef, indicated in an interview with Al-Sabah that “sustainable economic development begins with making the capital cycle within a local framework in its largest proportion, and that the funds that go to imports be allocated in the development of national production and enhancing the reality of services provided to citizens, from Here we must work to support the national economy."
He pointed out the inevitability of having an import policy based on accurate systems that determine the national market's need for imports, after examining the capabilities of the national product and ways to develop it. From here, we can create a balanced market that is aware of its need for imports and its local manufacturing capabilities.
He pointed out that "the qualitative national product there is a great demand for it within the local market, especially since some Iraqi brands have a great positive memory for the Iraqi family, and this is a feature whose importance the Iraqi factory must realize."
And he continued, “And the talk to the media office in the Ministry of Industry”: “These products are included in all fields, whether electrical, mechanical, food, pharmaceutical, textile, or petrochemical, in addition to other industries being diverse,” explaining that “electrical products include lighting poles, electricity poles, and generators.” And power and distribution transformers, in addition to electrical wires of all sizes, as well as cables.”
And he indicated that "the Pharmaceutical Industries Company supplies medicines to the Ministry of Health, the private sector and the Iraqi market," explaining that "the ministry has developed a complete plan to rehabilitate laboratories in short and medium-term stages to increase laboratories' productivity, efficiency and quality to keep pace with the development taking place in the world."
