On Monday, February 13, 2023, the Central Bank of Iraq’s sales of foreign currency recorded a significant decrease, to more than $115 million.
Foreign remittances amounted to approximately $53 million, or about 46 percent of total sales
During its auction for the sale and purchase of US dollars, the Central Bank witnessed a decrease in its dollar sales to reach 115 million, 403 thousand, and 294 dollars, or 62%, or approximately $190 million, from last Sunday’s [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] .
Foreign remittances recorded a significant decrease to about $53 million, in the form of requests to boost balances abroad, and amounted to 46% of total sales.
The Central Bank recorded an increase in its currency sales in cash, to about $63 million, or 54% of total sales.
And 17 banks met requests to consolidate balances abroad, compared to 17 banks to meet cash requests, with the participation of 158 mediation companies and 22 exchange companies.
The bank covered the sales at the following prices:
- The price of selling amounts of documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards is (1305) dinars per dollar
The price of selling remittances abroad is (1310) dinars per dollar
The cash selling price is (1310) dinars per dollar
