Al-Jaafari discusses with Kerry bilateral relations and mechanisms of joint cooperation to meet the IS

BAGHDAD / NINA / Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari discussed on Thursday with the American Secretary of State, John Kerry, and his accompanying delegation the relations between Iraq and the United States, and mechanisms of joint cooperation in the military and intelligence; to counter the threat of the IS organizations in Iraq and around the world.
A statement by Jaafari’s office today said that he also “emphasized the importance of the active presence of the neighboring countries in Jeddah Conference to discuss coordination between Iraq and its neighbors, and the United States to draw a comprehensive strategy to defeat the IS organization.
He pointed out that the IS organization today threatens the countries in the region, and everyone should stand to confront this terrorism, explaining that terrorist organizations do not target a state without the other, nor nationality without the other, nor a doctrine without the other, but targets all of humanity, which requires global stand to fight it.
