Baghdad / NINA / - The Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee decided to host the Minister of Electricity to discuss the two memorandums of understanding with the German company Siemens and the American General Electric Company, and to review the merits of the file.
The committee discussed, during its periodic meeting today, Monday, the first amendment draft law to the Ministry of Electricity Law No. 53 of 2017, making observations related to it, the need to include it, and the maturity of its paragraphs.
The committee stressed the importance of working on a renewable energy project, through solar energy, waste recycling and others, and reducing reliance on burning fossil fuels to reduce carbon emissions, starting with oil energy, where it was agreed to hold a workshop with the ministries of electricity and oil and face challenges.
And the committee decided to send an official letter to the Presidency of the House of Representatives regarding the Diwani Order Committee No. (61) of 2019./ Ended 5
