A member of the Finance Committee in Parliament, Mueen Al-Kazemi, estimated the general budget for the current year at one hundred and seventy trillion dinars.
Al-Kazemi said that the coming days will witness the arrival of the budget to the House of Representatives in the event that it is approved by the Council of Ministers, adding that the Parliamentary Finance Committee is studying the law, discussing it, making some amendments and approving it during the month of April.
He pointed out that the price of a barrel of oil was set at sixty-five dollars per barrel, which is the upper limit of the oil price in the two thousand and twenty-three budget, and on the basis of which the export is calculated as three million five hundred thousand barrels of oil per day, and the revenues are approximately one hundred and thirty-five trillion dinars, to which collection, taxes and deficit are added. The plan is covered by loans, and the budget can reach one hundred and seventy trillion dinars.
He added that the Sudanese government aspires to pass the budget of two hundred trillion dinars, but the Finance Committee and the House of Representatives are awaiting the arrival of the budget to Parliament to discuss its doors in detail.
