Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani directed, on Sunday, directives regarding fees obtained from vehicle registration.
The governor of Wasit, Muhammad al-Mayahi, told the official news agency, "Everyone complains about the external roads and bridges.
He added, "The maintenance of roads does not bear the approval of the budget, but rather it needs an immediate budget to maintain them and prevent accidents," noting that "the Ministry of Finance is obligated to give these funds to the governorates to spend them on external roads."
And he continued, "The decisions of the Supreme Commission for Coordination between the governorates that are not associated with a region are binding on implementation, as is the case with the Council of Ministers," pointing out that "all governorates and ministries are obligated to implement the recommendations issued by the Commission."
