Today, Monday, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, affirmed the Cabinet's support for restructuring the Persons with Disabilities Care Authority and rehabilitating its departments, while stressing the need to facilitate procedures and reviews for people with disabilities.
The ministry stated, in a statement received by (Baghdad Today), that "Minister Ahmed Al-Asadi visited today the Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities and Special Needs in the Ministry of Labor, accompanied by the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Human Rights, Zaidan Khalaf Al-Atwani, and the head of the Human Rights Authority, Zikra Abdul Rahim."
She added, "The visit witnessed a review of the work mechanism, the most important problems and obstacles that impede the progress of work, the nature of the commission's work, and how to receive auditors."
The minister stressed, according to the statement, the need to "take care of groups of people with disabilities and facilitate the procedures for their reviews, especially critical humanitarian cases, and address them as soon as possible, and complete their transactions finally within the contexts in force in the ministry and the rest of the ministries and institutions concerned with people with disabilities."
Al-Asadi welcomed the endorsement and support of the Council of Ministers for the Ministry and the Authority in particular for its restructuring with the submission of proposals, including the preparation of unified designs for all its departments that are suitable for the segment of people with special needs, with the importance of preparing a solid database in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and strengthening it with staff from the various ministry and specialists.
