The most recent meeting of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, with his deputy, Qubad Talabani, was an official and popular satisfaction that called for optimism about resolving the political dispute that has been raging for nearly a year between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Union, which led to the union’s ministers boycotting the meeting of the regional government and negotiating delegations with the federal government recently, while the parties Another part of the meeting was that it did not make any change in meeting the demands of the citizens of the region.
A member of the Kurdistan Union, Ghiath Al-Sorji, said, “From the beginning, our doors were open to dialogue with any party, especially with the Kurdistan Democratic Party, with which we have partnerships as two main parties, and even at the level of Iraq,” noting that “any party cannot manage Kurdistan without the participation of the two parties, specifically in this matter.” Envelope".
Surji added, in an interview with Al-Sabah, that “Neither of these two parties can manage governance in Kurdistan alone,” noting that the negative effects of the presence of two administrations in Sulaymaniyah and Erbil are present, so we need time and seek to integrate all sensitive security and military institutions into one. government.”
Regarding the days of estrangement, he explained that “the past months have greatly affected the street and all areas of investment, service, foreign, economic and financial policy,” describing Barzani and Talabani’s meeting as historic, and said: “They sat down despite the absence of a statement or press conference. For his part, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Amang Harky, denied "any detailed information about what happened during the meeting between the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government and his deputy, Qubad Talabani," noting that what was nominated was the decision of the two sides to continue the meetings to reach common solutions that lead to ending the existing problems.
And the official spokesman for the Kurdistan Justice Group, Mahmoud Muhammad, expressed his dissatisfaction with exaggerating the results of the meeting, hoping that "the meeting will result in resolving outstanding problems, including the problem of financial liquidity and employee salaries in Sulaymaniyah."
Mahmoud pointed out, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", that "the two parties, the Union and the Democratic Party, reached agreements regarding internal revenues and collected them centrally." According to him.
In turn, the political analyst Sherwan Al-Shamirani said: "The meeting is the most correct way to break the psychological barrier during the past months between the two men, especially after the spasmodic speeches directly last week."
Al-Shamirani added to Al-Sabah, “We saw that the session should be frank, devoid of the presence of any other element from the two parties, without shame or flattery in order to put points on the letters,” adding, “I think that the problems will find their way to a solution due to international pressure and the lack of time required.” To hold legislative elections in the Kurdistan region.

And Shali expressed, in an interview with Al-Sabah, his optimism that “the meeting will enhance the status of the region and the unity of Iraq as a result of the rapprochement between the regional government and the federal government,” stressing that “every step of rapprochement between political parties, provinces and regions gives strong support to this government to play its role.”
