    Earth News / The Minister of Labor, Ahmed Al-Asadi, announced today, Wednesday, the launch of the second batch for those applying for the social subsidy, while indicating that about five billion dinars will be recovered within 3 months from those who exceeded the subsidy.
    Al-Asadi said during a press conference held upon his arrival in Diwaniyah Governorate, and was attended by the Earth News Agency correspondent, that "the second batch of applicants for social protection subsidy has been launched, as the number of those covered reached 58,070, including the category of people with disabilities," noting that "the number of people covered is people with disabilities." And the special needs for this month are 80,000.”
    He added, "The ministry issued smart cards to more than 35,000 families within the first meal, so that the number of families covered during this month is 179,746."
    Al-Asadi confirmed that “his ministry has completed social research procedures for more than one million and 80 thousand families and uploaded them to the database,” noting that “the data of more than 820 thousand families has been boycotted.”
    He pointed out, "The second batch of those who exceeded the social subsidy amounted to 12,000, so that the total number of debtors who were exposed within 3 months was 175,000 who exceeded the subsidy."
    And he continued, “As the subsidy was cut off from 117,323 families who exceeded the social subsidy until 15-5-2023, and about five billion dinars were recovered within 3 months from those who exceeded the subsidy, and 21 billion dinars were recovered since the start of the data boycott process.”
    Al-Asadi announced that "an additional 7,500 families will be included in the food security funds, and the first batch for the month of June will be released on Thursday."
    As for the data boycott with the General Traffic Directorate, he indicated that “65,104 of those who have a wheel have been detected and continue to receive the social subsidy,” adding, “The subsidy has been suspended for this month for 10,217 who own a 2016 model wheel and above, and there are 253,004 beneficiaries.” It was discovered that cars were registered in the names of their wives, and work is underway to check their data for the purpose of stopping those who transgress the subsidy.”
    He stated, "There are about a million family members who used to receive the subsidy as adults, and they are now being audited."
    And he indicated that “the number of families receiving social assistance in Diwaniyah governorate reached 91,417, and during the past week we announced the inclusion of 9,083 families with social assistance, in addition to the inclusion of 1,397 disabled people in the governorate with social assistance, bringing the number of those covered to 10,480 families.”
    And he went on to say: “The transactions of 40,948 families were completed in preparation for their inclusion in the next meals, as the data of 17,536 families in Diwaniyah were interrupted and awaiting the arrival of the social researcher, and 16,732 families were included in social assistance in the governorate within the amounts of food security during the current year,” pointing out, “ Including all those who meet the conditions for granting aid from dialysis patients, as two sub-committees were opened in the districts of Al-Shinafiyah and Al-Sudair, and the beneficiaries must review the new committees, starting next Sunday. 
    He pointed out that “the ministry included 230 job seekers with soft loans in the governorate, bringing the total loans granted to the governorate to 6,517.”
    He concluded by saying: “Amending the law on caring for people with disabilities and special needs was discussed, as Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani directed all concerned ministries to submit a detailed report in the coming days so that a re-vote on the law would serve this important segment, which the government has paid great attention to.”
