    Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani affirmed today, Thursday, that 90% of building permits are surrounded by corruption, while stressing the need to address dealing with fines subject to the mood of corrupt employees.
    The Prime Minister said in a speech during his visit to the Baghdad Municipality building, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The simplification of procedures in state departments will eliminate many cases of corruption that occur through direct contact with citizens," pointing to "the importance of dealing electronically."
    He added, "90% of the processes for granting building permits involve corruption and obstruction of work," stressing "work to deter the corrupt and bribe-takers."
    "We will work to set controls to simplify procedures," he said, pointing out that "there are influential people who control cleaning supplies in popular areas in return for sums of money."
    He stated that "there are those who set themselves up as a contractor to rent streets and take from people a parking fee without any legal assignment," noting that "complaints have been received from citizens about the slow implementation of street covering projects, and we will work to address them." He pointed out that "the government has adopted services as a priority in its work, and we will follow up.
    " Citizens' problems, and we are working to achieve them," explaining that "dealing with fines is subject to the mood of corrupt employees, and it must be addressed."
    Yesterday evening, Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani paid a visit to the Baghdad Municipality building, and he was received by the Mayor of Baghdad and the advanced staff in the Municipality, where he held a meeting with municipal directors in the capital, Baghdad, and was briefed on the progress of the implementation of projects related to drinking water, sanitation and other projects. Infrastructure, and followed up with municipal directors the levels of achievement and the obstacles that impede the implementation of the plans prepared according to the timetables, and confirmed his personal follow-up, in order to overcome the obstacles facing the progress of project implementation, and to carry out field visits to work sites.
    The Prime Minister stressed "the need of the capital, Baghdad, to double service work in its residential areas and neighborhoods, and to be at an exceptional level in terms of implementation and timing," stressing "the need to make maximum efforts to serve the people of the capital and provide municipal services, in order for Baghdad to appear in its best form, and to reflect its bright history and heritage." ".
    He stressed "the importance of the capital having priority in implementing the slogan of the year of services and projects launched by the government, which came in line with its vision towards providing services in all parts of Iraq," pointing to "the need to pay attention to the urban and cultural aspect because of its capabilities in this aspect, as well as the development of The capital's entrances and attention to green spaces, adding aesthetic and environmental elements to its areas and streets.
    And the Prime Minister directed "to address all observations on the work of the secretariat that were raised during the meeting, as the steps of the solutions will be followed up in subsequent visits to him."[/size]
