The former British ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson Richardson, confirmed that the volume of trade exchange between his country and Iraq amounted to one billion and 200 million pounds sterling in 2022. Mark Richardson said in a televised interview that the
Iraqi -British strategic dialogue held in June 2021 was reflective of the reality of London's desire for a broad and contemporary partnership with Baghdad.”
Regarding British support for Iraq for membership in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the former ambassador stated that “through membership in the bank, Iraq will become, in the first stage, part of a wide global network that jointly invests in the opportunities available to the private sector in a number of countries. He pointed out that in the second stage,
he "will be able to obtain investments from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development," according to Mark Bryson-Richardson, who added: "Fortunately, we see that investments come to Iraq through the bank." .”
The former ambassador indicated that "the volume of trade exchange between his country and Iraq amounted to one billion and 200 million pounds sterling in 2022," expressing "optimism that it will witness an increase this year."[/rtl]
