Governmental intention to establish a permanent council for the private sector

The private sector represents the backbone of the various economies of the countries of the world, and the main player that can increase development rates, eliminate unemployment and poverty and enhance the country's productive capabilities, which called on the government to work to overcome the requirements and needs of this sector, and seek to involve it in various activities And economic activities, in a step that confirms the government's desire to grant the private sector the space that enables it to provide the various needs of the country, and to include it in productive partnerships with its government counterpart.
In order to provide the appropriate ground for the work of the private sector and to secure all the requirements for its success, the Ministry of Planning recently revealed an intention to convert the (Private Sector Development Council that it supervises) from temporary to permanent, indicating at the same time, the development of a strategic plan that extends until 2030 to develop this sector.
On various occasions, Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani affirmed the government's keenness to advance the private sector in all its aspects, especially the investment and industrial sectors. And the development of its contribution to the national economy, as well as the adoption of promising industrial projects, to be a partner of the state in the implementation of economic development plans.
Government moves aimed at reviving the economic sector were welcomed by specialists in this regard, who praised the steps taken to give this sector the space that enables it to support the development process in the country, and as indicated by the economist and member of the Interim Private Sector Development Council, Dr. Ali Hadi Jouda, Indicating during his speech to "Al-Sabah" that "the government, through its program, focused on the need to implement partnership policies between the public and private sectors in management, implementation, financing and employment, according to a general framework that draws the compass through the legislation of the partnership law, which is in the process of the third amendment in the relevant parliamentary committees."
Hadi believes that "the features and tools for implementing this partnership are through the formation of the Private Sector Development Council in its permanent form, which supervises, conducts and plans the paths of this partnership, as well as its role in measuring the extent of its impact and impact on the business environment and the geography of growth and comprehensive development," stressing that "this council will be Representing all private sector structures and working to create strategies that would move the private sector to the fore and take the initiative in gradually managing the helm of the economy.
And the official spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, explained in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the ministry is working in light of the private sector development strategy that it provided for the year 2030, as one of its most important outputs is the establishment of the Private Sector Development Council in a temporary format headed by a deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim," noting that "the council includes in its membership representatives of about 30 activities of the private sector with its various specializations, in addition to representatives of a number of government agencies related to empowering the private sector."
Al-Hindawi added, "Work is currently underway to transform the private sector into a permanent council by electing an administrative body and naming the general body through elections that will be held," noting that "a date has not yet been set for these elections, but the Minister of Planning wants to convert the temporary council into a council Permanent to carry out his work clearly, participate in economic decision-making, and chart a role for the private sector in partnership with the public sector.
