The representative of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, confirmed on Tuesday that the regional government did not fulfill its obligations stipulated in the budget, pointing out that it bears responsibility for paying employees’ salaries, especially since Baghdad does not have a database on the numbers of Kurdistan employees.
Al-Baldawi told Al-Maalouma, “The Kurdistan region is supposed to adhere to the terms of the budget by handing over oil and non-oil revenues and ensuring their arrival to Baghdad to be entered into the public treasury, so that the government can send money to the region.”
He added, "The government's continued sending of money to the Kurdistan region without receiving any revenue is incorrect, as the regional government is the one that bears responsibility for the salaries of employees within Kurdistan."
He stated that "the regional government requested a percentage of the budget amounting to 12.6 and did not leave Baghdad an option to determine the value of the salaries of employees in Kurdistan, and as a result, the amounts were sent to the region in the past months." Ended 25 n
