With an official invitation, Nechirvan Barzani participates in the World Climate Summit in the Emirates

Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, received today, Sunday, an official invitation to participate in the World Climate Summit (COP28), whose activities are scheduled to start at the beginning of next December in the United Arab Emirates.
The Presidency of the Region stated in a statement that President Nechirvan Barzani received, this morning, the Consul General of the United Arab Emirates, Ahmed Al-Zahri.
The statement added that, during the meeting, the UAE Consul General handed over the invitation card of the President of the UAE, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to President Nechirvan Barzani, inviting him to visit the United Arab Emirates and participate in the COP28 World Climate Summit, which will be held on the 1st and 2nd of December. Next up is Expo Dubai, which coincides with UAE National Day.
This summit meeting comes within the framework of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change and on the basis of the Paris Agreement, and will discuss issues related to climate change, ways to confront its repercussions, and the role of countries around the world in mitigating its risks.
Emirati investment opportunities in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the development of relations, the latest developments in the region in general, and a group of issues of common interest formed another focus of the meeting, according to a statement by the region’s presidency.
