    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Wednesday (November 8, 2023), the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee commented on the possibility of receiving those forcibly displaced from Palestine due to the impact of the war of extermination in Gaza carried out by the Zionist entity.
Committee member Yasser Watout told “Baghdad Today” that “Iraq’s position, governmental, political, and even popular, is clear and declared by rejecting the displacement of the people of Gaza and their transfer to any country, including Iraq, and Iraq has officially rejected any proposal in this regard, despite all international pressure.” .
Wattut added, "The Iraqi situation at various levels does not allow it to receive displaced Palestinians, especially since this matter is considered a sale of the Palestinian cause, and this matter is not accepted by Iraq, which is one of the first and largest countries supporting this cause," pointing out that "Iraq is actually moving externally from To stop the war and prevent the displacement of Palestinians for any reason.”
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs always affirms Iraq’s firm position towards the Palestinian issue, the Palestinian people achieving their full rights, establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, and guaranteeing the right of return for all Palestinians to their land, while categorically rejecting the American peace process that was launched during the era of former President Donald Trump, known as the “deal.” Century,” where the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, in a statement at the time, called on Arabs and Muslims to stand alongside the Palestinians in supporting their legitimate rights and establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, as well as returning all occupied territories to Syria and Lebanon.
According to a Foreign Ministry statement, “Iraq stands with its Palestinian brothers in their legitimate rights guaranteed by international legitimacy and Security Council resolutions, and their right to return to their homes and lands, and stresses that Al-Quds Al-Sharif and Al-Aqsa Mosque are still under occupation.”
