The Ministry of Transport opened a fixed headquarters for the management and implementation of the Development Road Project, while revealing that it had received many international and regional offers to participate in it.
Director of the General Railway Company affiliated with the Ministry, Younis Khaled Jawad, reported to Al-Sabah that a headquarters for the management and implementation of the Development Road Project was opened in the company building to conduct the completion operations, indicating that there are discussions, correspondence, and correspondence between the project management, the local governorates, and the relevant ministries, as it will pass through 11 governorates, pointing out that many countries in the region and the world have expressed a great desire to participate in the project, especially since it will be the most appropriate, shortest, and least expensive way to transport goods between the continents of Asia and Europe.
He added that the development path will enable Al-Faw Port to ship goods, whether coming from the Gulf or coming from eastern China and Australia to Turkey and from there to Europe, pointing out that completion rates in the initial designs of the railway line have exceeded 50 percent.
Jawad added that the railway was able to keep pace with development, modernity and technology by linking its train network to a system of surveillance cameras to regulate its flow and installing automatic arms to avoid repeated accidents, in addition to activating electronic payment at all stations, pointing out that it is also working on developing a comprehensive plan to reactivate and operate all railway lines. The iron is out of service in the northern and western regions of the country that were damaged by terrorist acts, in conjunction with the steps to implement the development road project, indicating at the conclusion of his speech that the government is determined to complete the project within the specified times, as it represents a real economic transition for the country.
