    The Border Ports Authority announced the seizure of (12) containers outside the customs campus, which caused a waste of public money at the northern port of Umm Qasr .
    The authority stated in a statement, seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the seizure operations carried out by the Border Ports Authority continue with its monitoring efforts for all incoming goods and merchandise, as the Umm Qasr Northern Port Directorate was able to seize (12) 40-foot containers outside the customs campus in The search and investigation control contains (TV screens) only, and other electrical materials were included in the customs transaction that do not exist, with the aim of evading the payment of the real customs and tax duties, which caused a waste of public money in the amount of (35,000,000) thirty-five million Iraqi dinars. ”
    She added, "A proper seizure report was organized and the container and customs processing were referred to the Umm Qasr Al-Shamali Customs Police Station to present the matter before the investigating judge to take appropriate legal measures against the negligent parties ."
