Today, Tuesday, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq announced that it will give pharmacy owners who violate drug pricing a period of two months, starting next year, to comply with this project.
The official in charge of follow-up, inspection and control of medicines in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Kovind Rawand, said, according to the official newspaper, “There are many complaints filed by citizens against some pharmacies for carrying out activities in violation of instructions, including removing the price and quality stickers from medicines and selling them at a higher price, on the one hand, under the pretext of the high price of the dollar.” And the companies’ failure to adhere to the price that was fixed by us, as this was reflected in the pharmacies’ non-compliance.”
Rawand added, “The issue of prices, whether they are more expensive or cheaper than the prescribed price, is unacceptable, as the necessary measures have been taken against the violators by closing the pharmacy for three days and paying a fine amounting to two million dinars, and depending on the violation, it may sometimes lead to a case being filed with the competent court.” .
He pointed out that "a new decision has been taken to give pharmacy owners two months, starting next year, to comply with drug pricing, after the competent authorities revealed the circulation of medical materials in the markets without a price sticker, as they must submit applications to obtain (stickers) and place them on these medical materials and display them." again in the markets.
