    The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, warned against a direct response to the targeting of the American embassy in Baghdad, without the government’s approval, while stressing the importance of not repeating the attack that took place in Jurf Al-Nasr.
    The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated, in a statement, today, Saturday, that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received, last night, Friday, a phone call from the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, Lloyd Austin, and during the call, bilateral cooperation relations in the security fields were discussed.” And ways to develop them between the two countries to meet various challenges.”
    The statement added, "The call touched on the recent attacks that targeted the headquarters of the American embassy in the capital, Baghdad, and the importance of reducing them, as they undermine Iraq's sovereignty and stability."
    During the call, the Prime Minister affirmed “the government’s commitment to protecting diplomatic missions and workers within the international coalition mission and its facilities, and that the security services are capable of pursuing and exposing those involved in these attacks, whoever they are,” warning at the same time against “a direct response without the government’s approval and the importance of not repeating the attacks.” The attack that took place in Jurf al-Nasr.”
    For his part, the US Secretary of Defense welcomed "the Iraqi government's position and its condemnation of the attacks that targeted the US embassy in Iraq, and its measures to pursue their perpetrators," stressing that "such actions threaten the internal security of Iraq."
