Wahab, independent MP Hadi Al-Salami called on the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministries of Planning and Finance to meet at one table and resolve the issue of amending the salary scale to achieve social justice among state employees.
Al-Salami said, in an interview with Al-Sabah, “The House of Representatives is following up on issues of public interest, especially regarding amending the salary scale, and there has been a lot of follow-up and correspondence between the House of Representatives, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Ministries of Planning and Finance, and the Order 24 Committee regarding the amendment.”
He explained that "after the recent follow-up between the Ministries of Planning and Finance, the latter revealed that it was unable to collect the database for all departments in Iraq," pointing out that "we received mail that was related to conveying the demands of the demonstrators, especially those who gathered in front of the offices of the House of Representatives in the provinces," explaining that “The General Secretariat’s books indicate that there is no complete database for government departments and institutions, and each ministry throws the ball in the other’s court.”
Al-Salami called on "the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministries of Planning and Finance to meet at one table in order to resolve the issue and make a decision that facilitates the collection of the database to achieve the public interest, social justice, and equality among all state employees in Iraq."
