Member of the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee, Muhammad Al-Zayadi, confirmed on Wednesday that making changes to the budget numbers for the current year 2024 will not affect the completion of service projects.

Al-Ziyadi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, “The tripartite budget prepared by the Sudanese government and approved by the House of Representatives has two dimensions. The first is the continuation of the provision of services and the completion of necessary service projects for all governorates and the continuity of the government. The second represents a message of reassurance that the country is stable and capable of achieving a budget for a period of time.” Three years".
He added, "The changes that will occur in the numbers of financial amounts in the budget will not affect the completion of service projects in all governorates, because the tripartite budget was drawn up for their completion, especially infrastructure."
Al-Ziyadi pointed out that “any change that occurs in the current year’s budget numbers is exclusively entrusted to the government, and then the House of Representatives approves the changes in accordance with the government’s vision.”
On June 12, 2023, after long deliberations between the government and parliament members that extended for months, the House of Representatives approved the financial budget law for the three years 2023, 2024, and 2025, as the budget approved more expenditures and investments as a direct result of the increase in oil revenues, which constitute 90% of the country’s revenues.
