Kurdish MP Omid Muhammad revealed on Sunday that the Presidency of Parliament resorted to a trick he described as magic in order to bring legality to Parliament sessions.
Muhammad told Mawazine News, “The Presidency of Parliament resorted to a magic trick by placing the voting clause on the Presidency of Parliament and then removing it later to give the session legal status.”
He added, "It is not possible not to include a clause in electing the Speaker of Parliament, as it is a binding clause in order to continue the legality of the sessions according to the internal regulations."
He pointed out that "four laws were read in the session, and the projects will be completed until the Federal Supreme Court issues a decision to elect the Speaker of Parliament."
Yesterday, Saturday, the House of Representatives held its regular session, headed by its Acting Speaker Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, during which it voted on the draft law on compensation for immunodeficiency patients, while the House of Representatives postponed voting on the draft law on leasing agricultural lands.
