    The Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced, on Sunday, that its next plan for the year 2024 is directed towards mineral exploration and geological surveying, revealing that more than 3 billion dinars have been allocated to these works, while indicating that it intends to hold a conference to present investment projects in the field of geological surveying and mining.
    The Ministry’s spokeswoman, Doha Al-Jubouri, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that “it is an annual program at the Ministry, through which it conducts geological surveys, mineral exploration, and various geophysical, geochemical, geoengineering, and hydrogeological studies in unexplored areas and governorates that contain... On minerals.
    She continued, "Then the Ministry documents this geological data to update the national network of geological and mineral information, and conducts tests and analyzes in the Authority's specialized laboratories."
    She explained, "The Ministry also conducts studies and experiments in research and development processes, in order to develop raw materials and industrial rocks and improve their suitability for various industries."
    She noted, "About 3.4 billion dinars have been allocated to carry out intensive exploration and investigation operations in various governorates of Iraq."
    She added, "The Ministry is in the process of preparing a development plan and goals for the year 2024, which will focus on mineral exploration and geological surveying, in line with the Ministry's plan for the next phase, which includes moving towards mining and exploration," stressing, "We will seek assistance from international companies and bodies specialized in this field."
    She went on to say: “The Ministry of Industry and Minerals has exploration and investigation teams distributed in all governorates of Iraq, which carry out their work according to its annual program, and the Ministry also works to determine reserve quantities for all mineral, quarry and mining ores in Iraq through these teams.”
    She pointed out, "There is a study to hold a conference or forum during the coming months of 2024, to present investment opportunities and projects in the field of geological surveying and mining," stressing that "the Ministry is now working to prepare these opportunities for the purpose of presenting them at the conference."
