The Minister of Environment, Engineer Nizar Amidi, confirmed today, Monday, that the electronic platform for citizens to obtain environmental approval has brought about a major shift in the transparency and facilitation of procedures in record time.
The Minister of Environment stated that the electronic platform for environmental transactions and approvals came to implement the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and the decisions of the government program in combating corruption and simplifying procedures for citizens, and through the technical effort in the ministry in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the electronic platform system’s capabilities were able to receive and complete citizens’ transactions. Environmental approvals are issued electronically without the citizen being present and burdening him with the burden of routine paper procedures.
The Minister of Environment stressed that the electronic platform is the most important step in implementing electronic governance software that enables the Ministry to deepen transparency, combat corruption, and simplify procedures in a record period, noting that the Ministry of Environment is intensifying its oversight and awareness role and drawing up general strategies for environmental management in the country.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Environment preceded this achievement by opening horizons and channels of communication with citizens in many ways to solve their problems and complaints. It was able to diagnose deficiencies in some of the roles of the concerned departments and took strict measures and administrative and technical amendments that contributed to improving performance in a distinguished manner.
