Shafaq News/ Independent MP Hadi Al-Salami revealed, on Wednesday, that a request had been submitted to the Presidency of Parliament, for the purpose of questioning the Minister of Commerce, due to suspicions of corruption, waste of public money, and the issue of the food basket.

Al-Salami told Shafaq News Agency, “Within the framework of the oversight and legislative work of members of the House of Representatives, yesterday, Tuesday, the Council finished interrogating the head of the Iraqi Media Network, and the Council then voted not to be convinced by his answers.”
Al-Salami continued, "We, in turn, have completed all procedures to interrogate the Minister of Commerce, Atheer Al-Ghurairi, and referred the request to the Interrogations Committee in Parliament, supported by more than 50 signatures, and then we are waiting for the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, to determine the date of the interrogation."
He added, "The subject of the interrogation of the Minister of Commerce relates to many violations and suspicions of corruption and waste of public money and the food basket. Our conversation is within the law and protected during the House of Representatives session today, February 14, and we are awaiting the procedures of the Council Presidency to determine the date of the interrogation session."
Yesterday, Tuesday, the House of Representatives held its seventh session of the fifth electoral session of the third legislative year in the first legislative term, headed by Mohsen Al-Mandalawi and in the presence of 169 representatives. It began to interrogate the head of the Iraqi Media Network, Nabil Jassim, and voted after the interrogation, not being satisfied with his answers.
