The local government of Babylon announced the completion of a plan for emergency food security projects in the governorate, costing 500 billion dinars.
The governor’s advisor for technical affairs, Ali Al-Mareb, said, “The food security projects plan worth 500 billion dinars, which was fully transmitted, focused on infrastructure projects in the governorate for the water and electricity sectors, noting that the most important of these projects is the sewage project on the right of Street 60, and the two treatment units in South and north of Babylon, and Routes 40 and 60,” according to the official newspaper.
He added, "Some small emergency food security projects have already been completed and entered service, such as conversion power stations and small water complexes, including the 2023 projects, complementing the food security plan to achieve a high level in the field of services, ensuring a good level of services for the people of the governorate."
Al-Mareb pointed out that “the first phase of the Babylon Plan was approved at a value of 325 billion dinars, and the governorate is in the process of completing the second phase, amounting to 275 billion dinars, and then working on announcing the projects and referring them for implementation,” noting that the focus was on the city center due to the lack of services in most of them. Its regions, and it also included other administrative units with important strategic projects.”
