Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Transport announced the completion rates achieved with the initial designs of the development road.
Director of Media and Relations at the Ministry, Maytham Al-Safi, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, followed by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the initial design stages of the development road project reached 66 percent for the railway line and 52 percent for the land express line.”
He added, "Soil investigation work reached 80 percent, while topographical survey operations reached 1,200 kilometers."
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed, during his reception with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) last Tuesday, the importance of supporting projects associated with the Development Road Project.
While the head of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi, confirmed that the Iraqi government is serious about starting to establish a development road that will be the gateway to economic communication between the East and the West.
