The Council of Ministers obligates Finance to pay TBI Bank’s dues to the region

The Council of Ministers, in its regular session held yesterday, Tuesday, under the chairmanship of Council President Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, issued a decision obligating the Federal Ministry of Finance to pay the dues of the Trade Bank of Iraq/TBI, due from the Kurdistan Region, in annual monthly installments for the years (2023, 2024) at the rate of ( 636) billion dinars per year, deducted from the region’s allocations for the year 2024, to be deducted later.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office stated that it approved the controls for regulating the dealings of beneficiary entities with letters of guarantee issued in their favor, taking into account the observations of the Ministerial Council for the Economy. It was also approved to accept a certified instrument or letter of guarantee, taking into account the validity period of the certified instrument.
The session included canceling the recommendations of the sixth meeting of the Chinese Framework Agreement, and canceling the Council of Ministers’ decision (24059 of 2024) regarding the completion of the new Nasiriyah warehouse and model school buildings, with funding from the Chinese agreement. It also included approving the projects approved by the Council of Ministers’ decision (24130 of 2023), and allocating Annually (7059) billion dinars, instead of (7137) billion dinars, signed by the committee.
The Council voted to delete the project (establishing an international stadium in the center of Nineveh Governorate), and to consider the request to include the project to establish the Nineveh Central Stadium with a closed sports hall on the right side of Mosul in a turnkey manner.
