Iraq calls releasing its frozen assets in Germany

Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: The outcome of the German foreign minister's visit to Baghdad was an Iraqi call to release the frozen funds in some German banks.
The call was made in a joint press conference between Iraqi foreign minister Ibrahim al-Jaffari and his German counterpart Sigmar Gabriel here in Baghdad.
Jaffari called Germany to play its "important" role in reconstructing Iraqi liberated areas in Salahal-din, Anbar and Mosul.
On the other hand, Jaffari called for opening the German consulate in Basra province.
The German foreign minister arrived here yesterday, where he held talks with Iraqi President Fouad Ma'soum and Parliament Speaker Saleem al-Jbouri.
He will continue his visit to Iraq in another stop in the Kurdish region today, Thursday, where he will hold talks with the Kurdish President Masoud Barzani to discuss the war against Dish (ISIS) organization, the situation of the displaced people and the bilateral relations.
