Speaker of the Parliamentary Finance Committee MP Mohammed Halbousi called on the government to ratify the investment contract to protect and secure the international road link between Iraq and Jordan as soon as possible and work to activate the experience by the international way in the province of Basra as well.
Al-Halbusi said that this investment project is a qualitative project of long-term economic feasibility and will provide thousands of job opportunities for citizens and drivers as well as revive the economy and stability of the areas surrounding the international road and will promote economic exchange between the two brotherly countries.
Halabousi stressed that opening the international road "will double the resources to strengthen and diversify the Iraqi economy."
He also pointed out that "it will increase the federal revenues in a way that contributes to filling the budget deficit."
He also pointed out that "in another way will contribute to increase the revenues of the local government of Anbar and helps in the reconstruction of the infrastructure of the international road, in addition to support projects for the reconstruction and stability of the province."
