British Ambassador to Iraq Frank Baker said on Monday that the time is not appropriate to hold a referendum in the Kurdistan region, noting that it is necessary to take the decision to referendum in cooperation with Baghdad.
"The British government's position is clear, we support the right to self-determination of any people, and the people of Iraq have the same right," Baker told a news conference during his visit to Halabja province, read by Mawazine News. "Britain believes that the time is not right now. For the referendum in the Kurdistan region. "
