announced that the Ukrainian Intergovernmental Authority for Nuclear Regulation, on Tuesday, for smoke billowed from one of the third unit rooms at the Chernobyl nuclear plant.
The authority said in a statement: "at 15:57 pm on 13 June, has reached information from the Chernobyl nuclear plant , talking about smoke billowed from the room of the third unit 509. At 16:00 was overcome with the help of emergency men. Nuclear situation room and unity The third has not changed. "
The third unit began work in 1981, and in December 2000, has been permanently closed by decision of the authorities.
It is worth mentioning that on April 26 , 1986 there was a terrible disaster , a nuclear reactor "Chernobyl", due to an explosion inside the fourth chamber of the power plant, resulting in a nuclear contamination and radiation 50 thousand square meters area of the territory of 12 counties Ukrainian, more than 46.5 thousand square meters and pollution of the Belarusian territory with nuclear radiation.
