[rtl]The Ukrainian authorities evacuated more than 30,000 people Thursday from the Vinnitsa area after a huge weapons cache was set ablaze, leading to an explosion amid speculation that the incident was "deliberate sabotage."[/rtl]
[rtl]The incident is the second of its kind in a weapons storage site in Ukraine this year.[/rtl]
[rtl]Ukraine has accused Moscow and rebels fighting Ukrainian troops in the east of the country of masterminding a similar explosion in March that killed two people.[/rtl]
[rtl]The military prosecutor's office in the former Soviet republic said it had opened an investigation into the possibility of a "sabotage" operation targeting the military facility in the center of the country.[/rtl]
[rtl]Initial reports of two typhoid injuries were reported as a result of explosions in heavy ammunition and air defense missiles that occurred at the facility without indicating deaths.[/rtl]
[rtl]The Vinnitsa region government explained that the store had 188,000 tons of ammunition, more than 83,000 tons declared by the army at the beginning.[/rtl]
None of the officials contacted by Agence France-Presse were able to explain the discrepancy in the numbers and confirm which of the two figures was correct.
