On Friday, America raised a permanent package of sanctions imposed on Sudan 20 years ago.

US media reported that the United States lifted economic sanctions imposed on Sudan years ago.

The decision will lift the value of the country's domestic currency against the dollar in an unprecedented manner, and will climb its stock indexes to the green zone to enter a historic recovery phase that has been waiting for years.

The US official, revealed on Thursday, that his country is preparing for a declaration on this issue today.

Washington is taking this decision, according to the US official, after it "achieved" the registration of Khartoum progress in several files, especially human rights and "counter terrorism."

The Sudanese authorities have said they are waiting for the lifting of US sanctions, after fulfilling their commitments in the five tracks defined during the time of former US President Barack Obama.

The tracks include: stabilizing the situation in the State of Southern Sudan, halting Ugandan LRA support, improving the humanitarian situation in the conflict areas (Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan), stopping military operations in combat areas, combating terrorism and reducing human trafficking.

Trump decided on June 12 to postpone the lifting of economic sanctions imposed on Sudan since 1997, a three-month period ending on 12 October, which Obama had ordered prior to his departure in January to raise them.

Over the past 20 years, the trade exchange movement has been horrifiedly regulated. The banking system has been limited to local affairs only, and the Sudanese economy has fallen to record levels of poverty and unemployment in the country.

According to the United Nations, 50% of Sudanese (15 million) live below the poverty line, while the unemployment rate in the country is 20.6%, according to previous statements of the Minister of Labor and Administrative Reform, Ahmed Babikar Nahar.

International estimates indicate that 70% of Sudanese have difficulty accessing water, food, education and health services.
