Iranian government spokesman Hamad Baqir Nubakht announced that the price of a barrel of oil equivalent to $ 50 will be approved in the new fiscal year budget (beginning March 21, 2018).
"The organization is taking the price of $ 50 a barrel in the next budget project and efforts are being made to achieve the target price," he said.
"The next budget is aimed at economic growth of 6 to 7 percent and 9 percent inflation," he said. "Reforms will be made to subsidies in the budget to cover a broader segment of the needy population."
The Iranian official pointed out that "the draft general budget will be submitted to the Islamic Shura (parliament) December 6 next."
