US newspaper: Hollywood actress recruited to assassinate King of Jordan
The US Today newspaper published a report in which new classified documents leaked out of more than 35,000 documents on the investigation into the assassination, which revealed a relationship between the CIA and the late King Hussein of Jordan.
The documents revealed that the CIA succeeded in recruiting a famous Hollywood actress, Suzanne Cabot, "to beat King Hussein.
The documents indicated that US intelligence succeeded in establishing an affair between King Hussein and the Hollywood actress, which lasted several years.
During a visit to the United States in 1956, King Hussein asked the US administration to arrange a meeting with Cabot and actually met her during a dinner party organized specifically for him, on 9 April 1959.
The CIA was also interested in booking a room under a pseudonym, in a hotel close to the home of the late Jordanian monarch, which is located near the famous beaches of Los Angeles, Long Beach, where the 23-year-old king falls.
The son of Hollywood actress Timothy Scott Rome was convicted of murdering his mother. Investigations revealed she received a monthly stipend from King Hussein up to $ 1,500 a month until her death in 1986.
The documents pointed out that the US intelligence, sought to exploit that relationship, to strengthen its pillars in the Middle East, especially as it was seen as a potential partner in the region, and sought to appease him in any way.
The US newspaper claimed that King Hussein had continued his relationship with Cabot for several years, and also claimed that the child, which was developed in 1964 raises doubts about his relations with the late King of Jordan.
But on December 10, 1986, Cabot was brutally murdered and her son was charged with murder, beaten to death at her Los Angeles home.
Timothy was sentenced in 1989 to three years in prison for manslaughter of the second degree for the famous Hollywood actress of Russian Jewish origin. Finished
