The Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Water will hold its 12th meeting at the headquarters of the Arab League tomorrow with the participation of a number of ministers and senior officials.
The meeting will discuss a number of water issues in the Arab countries included in the draft agenda of the Bureau, which includes more than 20 items, including follow up implementation of the implementation plan of the strategy of water security in the Arab region to meet the challenges and future requirements for sustainable development.
"The meeting will discuss, over two days, Arab cooperation in the use of shared water resources and the Arab preparation for the 8th World Water Forum, and discuss the regional initiative for interrelationship between the energy, water and food sectors," said the Director of the Arab League Water, Water and Water Resources Department Jamal Gaballah. In the Arab countries and their activities, presenting experiences, success stories and pilot projects in the Arab countries in the field of water resources, as well as discussing enhancing the negotiating capacities of the Arab countries on shared water resources with non-governmental countries. He explained that "the meeting will review a report on the practices of the Israeli occupation authorities in the theft of Arab water in the occupied Syrian Golan and southern Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories, and discuss support for Iraq's rights on the conservation of water resources in the Tigris and Euphrates."
