The US embassy in Iraq announced on Saturday that US Deputy Secretary of State Sullivan will visit Baghdad on Sunday, 28 January 2018.
Sullivan will head a joint delegation from various agencies to participate in the Higher Coordination Committee to strengthen our long-term partnership with Iraq and the Iraqi people, the embassy statement said.
The deputy minister intends to focus on expanding economic ties between the United States and Iraq and increasing foreign investment to facilitate Iraq's reconstruction after 14 years of war and counter-terrorism, the statement added.
The statement added that Deputy Minister Sullivan will meet with senior Iraqi officials to discuss efforts to ensure the defeat of the eternal and regional strategic priorities and progress in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
