BAGHDAD (Reuters) - An Iraqi official said on Saturday that the corruption file was at its most serious stage because of the inclusion of the amnesty law for corrupt senior officials, pointing out that there were corruption cases against people between 400 and 500 million US dollars, but their files are closed in one way or another.

"The file of corruption in the country has reached its most serious stage because of the inclusion of the amnesty law for senior corrupt officials," the official said, adding that "this law has caused serious problems in terms of the principle of combating corruption in Iraq."

He added that "there are pressure on the judges from the political and partisan leaders, some of them are open and high-level in order to stop many of the detection of major thefts or attempt to include the largest number of corrupt in the amnesty law, which found the corrupt and those behind them loopholes they can pass from, That "there are cases of corruption against people between 400 and 500 million US dollars, but their files are closed in one way or another, including the general amnesty."

It is noteworthy that the financial and administrative corruption spread in Iraq significantly, as Transparency International classified it as one of the most corrupt countries in the world, but the Iraqi government often criticized the reports of the Organization on corruption and considered inaccurate and based on information received through local and foreign companies failed to implement Service projects in Iraq.
