The talks between Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Iraqi officials have dealt with several files, notably Lebanese investors and businessmen, estimated at $ 8 billion, according to the Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar on Wednesday, referring to work done in the 1980s.
"The Baghdad talks opened the door to dealing with several files, most notably the funds of Lebanese investors and businessmen estimated at 8 billion dollars, and return to the work they completed in the eighties of the last century," the newspaper said in a news item.
The newspaper added that "it was decided to follow up the files through the formation of a joint committee, and will be held today a meeting between the Director General of the Ministry of Justice of Lebanon, Judge Maysam Nuweiri, and the President of the Lebanese Lebanese Business Council Abdul Wadud Al-Nassuli.
The paper pointed out that "Aoun will meet today, before his move to Armenia, Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri and Iraqi Vice President Iyad Allawi."
