Ahmadinejad's most important demands from Khamenei to ensure freedom of expression are public trials, as stipulated by the constitution, and an official reference to abuses of the judiciary.

In mid-March, Ahmadinejad sent a letter to the commander of the Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, demanding that he declare his position on accusing his aide Hamid Baqa'i of embezzling about 4 million riyals from the "Quds Force" funds earmarked for gifts to African leaders, according to Ahmadinejad. The Iranian judiciary sentenced me to custody and transferred him to the prison of Avin last month, after he was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, for embezzlement of government funds, and the Revolutionary Guards.
