The Ministry of Defense suspended Thursday the news that Israeli planes had penetrated the Iraqi airspace.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Tahseen al-Khafaji, denied the news of the infiltration of Israeli aircraft into the Iraqi airspace and the implementation of reconnaissance flights over Iran as "inaccurate and incorrect news."
Al-Khafaji said that "there is no truth to the infiltration of Israeli aircraft to Iraqi airspace, and Iraq has an air defense system capable of dealing well with any violation of the Iraqi airspace. Iran also has an advanced air defense system and radars capable of detecting and dealing with any violation of its airspace."
The Arab media reported earlier in the day that two Israeli F-35 fighters crossed Syrian airspace into Iraqi airspace, including to Iran, where they carried out reconnaissance missions and targets in the areas of Bandar Abbas, Isfahan and Shiraz, flying at a high altitude over other suspected sites. Its relationship with Iran's nuclear program on the Gulf coast.
